Sofar ("we", "the app") is a TV-tracking app operated by Fynn Starke. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. We try to collect as little as possible.

Data we collect

When you create an account and use Sofar, we store:

• Account info: email address, password (hashed by our auth provider), optional username.
• Session info: device and browser identifiers used to keep you signed in and let you see and revoke active sessions.
• Your library: shows you add, their status (watching, planned, completed, dropped, paused), your ratings.
• Watch history: which episodes you marked as watched, and when.
• Rewatch cycles: when you start or finish rewatching a show.

We do not collect: location, contacts, advertising identifiers, payment information, or analytics on how you use the app. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

How we use it

• To sign you in and sync your library across devices.
• To show you what's next to watch and what's airing soon.
• To answer support requests if you contact us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Where it's stored

Account data and your library are stored on Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Show metadata (titles, posters, air dates, episodes) comes from TVmaze. Streaming provider availability ("where to watch") comes from The Movie Database (TMDB), which sources it from JustWatch. We fetch both server-side and do not share your identity with them.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account exists. You can delete your account from the app's Account screen; this permanently removes your library, watch history, ratings, sessions, and account credentials.

You can also export your library and watch history from the app at any time.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right under GDPR to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Most of these you can do directly from the app; for anything else, email us.

Children

Sofar is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the app.
