These terms apply when you use the Sofar app or website. By using Sofar, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The service
Sofar is a personal TV-tracking app provided by Fynn Starke ("we"). We offer it as-is and may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We try not to break things, but no uptime is guaranteed.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Sofar.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account.
- One account per person. Don't impersonate others.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen.
Acceptable use
Don't use Sofar to:
- Break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
- Scrape, abuse, or overload the service.
- Reverse-engineer, resell, or rebrand the app.
- Upload content that isn't yours or that's unlawful.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
Content from third parties
Show information (titles, posters, descriptions, air dates, episodes) comes from TVmaze and is used under TVmaze's terms. Streaming provider availability ("where to watch") comes from The Movie Database (TMDB), which sources it from JustWatch, and is used under TMDB's terms. Sofar is not endorsed or certified by TVmaze, TMDB, or JustWatch. Streaming availability is informational only; we don't control or guarantee it.
Your content
Anything you put into Sofar — your library, ratings, watch history — belongs to you. We only use it to operate the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
Sofar is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll let you know in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections under the laws of your country of residence.
